From November to January, humpback whales and orcas migrate towards the coast of the Troms region. A good opportunity for lovers of marine mammals to enjoy this breath-taking show and admire incredible northern lights while sailing along.
During this trip we will attempt to observe humpback whales and killer whales that are expected to migrate to the wild coast of Troms. This activity takes place at a time when the nights are long which also allows to admire the northern lights far away from others artificial lights. While on the field, we can observe otters, seals, eagles and many sea birds wintering in Northern Norway.

This program is given for information only and may be influenced by the weather conditions and herring’s migration which does not give any guarantee for observation of mammals. From one year to the other, orcas and whales are not at the same place. If they are in the vicinity of Tromsø, we can take half day more in Tromsø to visit museums or take the cable car to watch the view from the upper part. In 2022, orcas and humpback whales was at one day of navigation from Tromsø. It gave us no opportunity to spent much time in Tromsø. We made very good observations every week of our program, running from mid November to beginning of January.
