The “Gjøa Haven” room is located on the 3rd floor of the lodge. The 2 twin beds (200 cm x 80 cm) can be securely attached together ( sailor’s word 🙂 ) to form a true double bed of 200 cm x 170 cm. The sliding bay window that opens onto the balcony offers a direct view of the beach, the archipelago and the immensity of the north coast of Senja Island.
It is equipped like a boat cabin and includes everything you need to feel good:
– Heating under the oak floor
-mirror
– Dimming and blackout curtains
– coat rack
– shelves
– individual electrical outlets in each bed
– bottle holder
– towel rail
– smoke detector.
– linen for bedding
– Towels (shower)
The mattresses have been carefully chosen to guarantee a restful night’s sleep. The access door from the lodge works with a code that allows you to keep your door closed if you wish.

The island of Sommarøy, the jewel of northern Norway, offers an enchanting setting between fjords and ocean. Located just 50 km from Tromsø, nicknamed the “Little Paris of the North”, it is ideal for contemplating the Northern Lights or the midnight sun. It is a place where the sky dances and the horizon seems infinite, with the only neighbours to the west being the shores of Greenland.
Being located on the wild coast is a great addition to Northern Lights viewing. When the weather is good, all observation posts are equal or almost, but if the weather is acting up, it is better to be in a corner where the offshore wind sweeps away the clouds more easily.
The original volumes have been respected to maintain energy sufficiency, which is more necessary than ever in cold regions and in times of climate change. The insulation, which is particularly careful, also contributes to the sufficiency of the building, as do the fifty-eight other points on which we have focused in order to be able to live comfortably while limiting its footprint on nature as much as possible.
