Well-being, a huge program that starts with breathing!
The reasons why someone looks to regain well-being are extremely varied: living better with illness, disability, functional disorders, managing transitions, time, stress and associated physical pains, burnout or boreout, work, family, searching for meaning, managing emotions, etc., etc., etc. This list could potentially go on forever…
All these reasons, as different as they may be, share the same gateway to feeling better: breathing.
We breathe on average 20,000 times a day, but very few people actually pay attention to their breathing, which is most of the time disturbed by the fast pace of our modern world. This leads to shallow, chest breathing and hyperventilation, which causes dysfunction in the breathing pattern.
Our breathing school, based on the “Oxygen Advantage” and “Buteyko Clinic International” methods developed by Patrick Mc Keown, is based on the work of Dr. Konstantin Buteyko, who in 1952 rediscovered the benefits of nasal, light, slow, and deep breathing.
Our classes cover the body’s natural anatomical and physiological functions to optimize air flow to the lungs, gas exchange between the pulmonary alveoli and our circulatory system, the optimal supply of fuel to our cells, and the regulation of the autonomic nervous system. Positive results from taking control of your breathing can be seen quickly. The process of re-educating the entire breathing pattern can, however, take several months.
Our base camp with our eco-lodge “Båthuset” is located in an environment perfect for recharging your batteries and offers simple, refreshing comfort. It’s in this natural setting that we welcome our clients.
Feel free to get in touch. Sessions are possible online and soon face to face.
